Dr. Susan Roberts, iDiet author, received the W.O. Atwater Lectureship award at the national nutrition conference in San Diego CA. This is an annual award recognizing outstanding contributions to the field of nutrition, nominated by her colleagues across the nation. At the award presentation, Dr. Roberts gave a lecture to a full audience of nutrition scientists, discussing the results of her studies into the 5 food instincts, her results in weight loss with the iDiet program, and the implications of her work for solving a now-global obesity epidemic. W.O. Atwater is considered the father of modern nutrition research and education, and performed groundbreaking research into the calorie that we still use today. He was the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s first chief of nutrition investigations.
